Shinta Takagi (高木 真太, Shinta Takagi) is a side character in Kimi no Na wa.. He is one of Taki Tachibana's closest friends who is optimistic and always jumps to the rescue of his friends.

Along with Tsukasa Fujii, Takagi first appeared in the movie when Mitsuha Miyamizu (in Taki's body) heard them calling over to eat lunch.

Appearance

Takagi is a tall young man with a large build. He has nape-length, slightly wavy light brown hair and free-falling bangs framing his face and parting in the middle. He also has thick eyebrows and dark brown eyes. He was usually depicted in his school uniform when he attended high school.

As an adult, Takagi grows taller, develops a larger and more muscular build as well as sharper facial features, though everything else looks mostly the same. He is depicted in a black business suit with a white shirt and a red tie.

Epilogue (2021-22)

By the time of 2021, Takagi is with his friends Taki Tachibana and Tsukasa Fujii as they meet each other in a cafe. They were talking about their job offerings: he got 2 job offerings, meanwhile Taki got none but Tsukasa got 8, but he with Tsukasa joked Taki didn't get any job offerings because of the business suit he wears.

Etymology

• The name Shinta means "real, genuine" (真) (shin) and "thick, big, great" (太) (ta).
• Shinta's surname Takagi means "tall, high" (高) (taka) and "tree, wood" (木) (ki/gi).
